Our Care

Preventative

Preventative

Annual or semiannual wellness exams are important cornerstones of preventative care at all ages. In addition to a comprehensive exam and consultation, we will discuss vaccine recommendations, dental care, nutrition, flea/parasite control, lab testing, and any health or behavior concerns about your pet or your pet’s breed.  Prevention and early detection, especially as pets reach their senior years, can keep your pet feeling vibrant, active and comfortable as long as possible.

Medicine

A thorough history and physical exam will be performed to help assess any illness or injury.  We will then discuss options for diagnostic testing and/or treatment. Tests may include taking blood, urine, fecal, or skin/tissue samples.  It may also include x-rays with our state of the art digital radiology system or abdominal ultrasound scheduled with a mobile radiologist. An in-house pharmacy is available to begin treating your pet as quickly as possible.  Collaboration with various specialists is frequently utilized to help in optimizing your pet’s assessment and treatment.

Surgery

Surgery

Our veterinarians have nearly forty years of combined experience in veterinary surgery and can perform many routine and non-routine procedures.  We stay up to date on the latest anesthetic, surgery, and pain relieving protocols. To keep your pet safe and comfortable, we routinely utilize calming premedication, pain medication,  IV catheters, IV fluids, warming air blankets, state of the art monitoring equipment and easily visible recovery areas with dimmable lighting. Close monitoring by our staff with focused care, attention, and a healthy dose of love are utilized from the time they are admitted until discharge.  Complex or orthopedic surgeries may be referred to a local board-certified surgeon.

Dentistry

Dentistry

Dental disease is the most common issue we find on routine exams.  It often goes unnoticed because the teeth are hidden from view and pets will not show obvious signs until disease and discomfort are very advanced.  Dental disease can also lead to more serious health problems involving the heart, lungs and kidneys. We offer preventative care recommendations as well professional dental cleanings and state of the art digital dental radiology (x-ray).  We can also perform most routine extractions if teeth are painful or diseased. Our goal is a healthy and pain-free mouth at every age.

Hospice

Hospice Care

When a beloved pet has been diagnosed with a terminal illness or is nearing end of life we offer hospice care to maintain your pet’s comfort.  Our goal with hospice care is not a cure, but is in education about your pet’s condition and in managing any symptoms to help relieve discomfort, pain, anxiety or confusion.  We want to extend the happy, good times as much as we are able. When it does come time to say goodbye, we want to help make it a peaceful, loving, calm and respectful time to honor your treasured friend and the bond you’ve shared.
